  i received an email from one of the elder in the local congregation.

  i am not dfed so there is not a problem there, i am just an aggressive fader.. one of the last things i said to this elder before i stopped all activities was that i do not agree with the borg taking all the assets from the congregations.. here is what the elder said in the email:.

  "i recently saw something while looking through the jw broadcasting for the month of may and i though about you.

  I do not think they will come around, them coming round to visit will cause them and the congregation more harm than good and they know it. I am not propagating apostate thoughs to the congregation members, so if they do come around, I will start to do that and they know it. I think they will wait until the next CO visit and ask for instructions as they cannot think for themselves on this matter.

  Our society (I do not mean the bOrg) only functions as long as we agree to it, even criminals agree to the system otherwise prisons and punishments would not work, civil disobedience is a very difficult thing for any governmental organization to deal with. Likewise the bOrg has difficulty with all apostates, which I am proud to be one, as we do not play by their rules. They expect its members to be honest, and those who stray also to be honest. I have no problems using their tactics against them, such as, half truths, lies (something I do find difficult to do) and outright deception. If they do come round I guess I will have fantastic time with all the knowledge I have gained from all the great people on this site; and then I will post another request for suggestions.

  So this is what I wrote to him:

  Thank you very much brother ...,

  I could only watch 26 minutes, because I could no longer listed to Brother Letts begging for money.

  I have just one question.

  Every congregation issues a monthly financial statement, which I think is good. Why does the Organization never issue a financial statement?

  I doubt very much that I will receive an answer, but if I do I will let you know.

  threads on the newer jw face of public "witnessing" have shared in common the astonishment that jws safely park themselves behind their literature trolleys and exercise incredibly little contact with passersby.

  whether the poster is talking about europe or the united states or australia, descriptions here are the same.. literature stands are protective sheilds behind which jws huddle, talking to each other, sipping on their espressos, whilst the disinterested world passes by.

  neither the jws nor the passersby catch each others eyes.

  I am thinking of taking them a couple of Arizona Iced Teas or something, on the next hot day. It's in the direct sunlight where they are set up, and why not be nice? Show them that an exJW, disfellowshipped person can be happy and caring.
  
  I dunno, maybe I'm getting soft in my old age.

  
  You are more human and show more compassion than they do, show them the kindness that a true Christian should show.

  When I was still active I voted against every resolution, that brought be scorn from the elders, and an investigation as to why I always voted against them. So one is not free to vote against a resolution. After my accusing the elders of using Gestapo type tactics they left me alone.

  Thank you all for your ideas I read every one of them.
  As some have suggested I should preserve my fade and say as little as possible, that is the advice I shall take, I guess that is the easy way, but this brave 18 year old, "Brie" puts me to shame, but then our circumstances are completely different.
  

  But Magnum made a very significant comment "That video itself should be the wake-up call. If Lett didn't wake him up, I don't think you stand a chance."

  Also d4g "I would just let it sink in on its own when he is ready. Otherwise, all you will do is raise his CD, and that may close the door to his mind actually opening at all."

  This elder does know my position and I think keeping the door open for him is the best way I can help him to wake up.

  Here is what the elder said in the email:

You talked to me about the financial situation of the organization and the amount of money involved. This video from Brother Lett explains things very well, definitely better than I could. It's about 60 minutes long and I found it very interesting, just take a look at it."

  And there was the link for the May broadcast by Lett.
  

  Now the thing is with this brother he also has this rare quality of being a shepherd and he does care for those in the congregation.

  Of course I know / we all know that Lett talks a load of cods wallop. But I need some suggestions on how to answer him that might make him think about things and help him to wake up. So any useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
